Warner Media

Web Experience Prototype

Overview

Warner Media is a powerful entertainment media arm, that creates unforgettable experiences through the use of design and technology. The team worked with Warner Media, to explore fandom through data, and uncover what new experience could be built with gathered data.

Initial Problem

Warner Media came to us to explore new interactive experiences that could be built, using aggregated fan data, rather than having the data just be collected and stored.

Goal

Our objective was to uncover what type of data is important to users, and what kind of products that they would want based on their data, without it feeling too invasive.

UX Process and Methods

Fan DNA Hub

The first prototype, was called the Fan DNA Hub, a website experience that allows users to view anonymous aggregated data from all Warner Media users, in a fun and engaging way that allows them to discover new television shows, fandoms, but more importantly connecting other unfamiliar data insights together to create new content. An example would be, if you are a fan of Game of Thrones, but you also like to crochet, then the web experience will recommend a group meetup on how to crochet a Game of Thrones Dragon.

MyDna

The second prototype, was called MyDNA. A personal DNA timeline strand, that tracks what you’ve watched, and gives you interesting insights based on the shows that you enjoy, such as infographics that show you the episode you’ve watched the most, giving you interactive surveys based on your favorite shows, and even allows you to share out your data, to meet other fellow fans and to show to your friends on other social media platforms.

Hi-Fidelity Prototypes

In order to pitch how these prototypes would actually operate, hi-fidelity mockups were designed and animated, to show the experience of someone using the fan DNA Hub for the very first time, along with a prototype of someone viewing their own personal timeline.

Next Steps/Future Opportunities

Next steps for the project, were to fully realize and build the prototypes to test them with our users. There were also more prototype concepts that we had thought of, and had been given the green light to move forward with, but just not during the first phase of the project.
